The Law of Unintended Consequences

E69 • Apr 20, 2023 • 21 mins

In this episode, Anne Corbin delves into the mystery of Quigley's missing book plates and societal power dynamics, alongside an analysis of Stanley Monteith's perspective. She explores secret societies like Cecil Rhodes' and the Masonic society, their influence, and Rhodes' ventures in South Africa. The episode also examines Plato's Republic's impact on Rhodes, the hidden control of banks, corporations, and governments, and the transformation from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe.

Key Points

  • There is a big mystery concerning Carroll Quigley’s ‘Tragedy and Hope’. Published and well received in 1966 its first half’s printing plates were ‘mislaid’.
  • Dr Monteith noted that since every head of the Federal Reserve since 1953, the majority of Secretaries of State, most Directors of the CIA, and seven of the last Presidents of the USA had come via the Council of Foreign Relations.
  • Cecil Rhodes was a mason and the pyramid structure may have inspired his secret society for the betterment of the British Empire.
  • The Round Table was the orchestrating force behind World War One and it led to the forming of The Council for Foreign Relations.

In this episode Anne connects and closes the gap between Carroll Quigley’s book ‘Tragedy and Hope’, the Dr Stanley Monteith 1997 lectures, turn-of-the-century African mining magnate and politician Cecil Rhodes and the existence of modern secret societies. What does the mysterious disappearance of a notorious book about the role of power in society, a lecture on said book and an invisible government running the world, a secret society called the Round Table and a modern ‘think tank’ dominating prominent positions called the CFA, Cecil Rhode’s Society of The Elect, and the push for a one world government have in common?

BEST MOMENTS

‘Due to the missing plates years elapsed between the printing of the first and second editions and Quigley made numerous attempts to find out what had happened to the missing first section.’

‘It (the CFR) developed from the Round Table, a secret society that enjoyed enormous power and influence at the very beginning of the last century.’

‘I have learned that it is absolutely true that Rhodes formed a secret society and it was originally called The Society of The Elect. It was specifically for the furtherance of the British Empire.’

‘At the Paris Peace Conference, Milner and Co reached out to their American cousins and that was the birth of the Council for Foreign Relations.’
