Religion and spirituality are different from each other, like spirituality and science, but also does not mean that they are in opposition. ‘You may recall that I’ve mentioned that I was raised a catholic but I can’t call myself one at the moment because I haven’t been following their rather restrictive rules for many years, and that makes me a lapsed catholic because in this faith unless you actively convert to something else it’s a case of, once a catholic, always a catholic.’
‘I also want to reflect broadly on the last book of The New Testament, Revelations or the book of the apocalypse. Apocalypse just means revelations although there is a tendency that apocalypse means some kind of disaster, probably because of certain film titles.’
‘It s a huge tourist attraction where the faithful literally flock, in droves, hoping for healing. And many actually receive healing, and then come the arguments about people healing themselves or their afflictions being psychosomatic or imaginary.’
‘Half a million people saw her in 1987 and what she said was considered to be a nuclear warning. The apparition got little or no publicity, outside of the Ukraine that is, perhaps because there’s such disbelief around in these so called modern times that even the church hesitates to accept any new visions as real.’
